Mission, Vision, and Core Values
Mission
Through my knowledge and passion for collections care practices, I work to maintain and ensure a safe future for the world’s material culture. My work allows unique and significant objects to be used by the community to tell meaningful stories and to create engaging dialogue.
Vision
I will be a collections manager at a well-known museum, and in that position, a subject matter expert on what care and resources the collection needs to thrive and be available to the public. I will be liked, respected, and counted on by my peers for excelling in work and achieving my goals.
Core Values
Access - What good is an impressive collection if hiding in a storeroom all of its life or if only able-bodied individuals can access it? Making my museum’s collection available to the community is imperative to its success as an educational tool.

Ethics - Advocacy for the collection extends to the insistence that it may not be used to support the financial or influential goals of the museum. The public trust has been placed on museum staff to make morally conscious decisions when it comes to the safety and sustainability of the institution.

Preservation - To ensure the longevity of the collection object, I strive to stay updated on current practices and advocate for conditions that allow these objects to remain useful to the public of the future.
